In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
In vitro fertilization (IVF) can make pregnancy possible for couples that want to carry a baby of their own but have been unable to conceive through natural methods. At HRC Fertility, we have the highest success rates for IVF in Orange County as well as one of the highest nationwide. Our live birth rates as a result of IVF are more than double the national average.
IVF is a scientific process that requires retrieval of a healthy and mature egg(s) from the woman. The egg is either injected with the sperm directly in a process called ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) or placed in a dish with the sperm to fertilize it. The embryos are then allowed to develop for a couple of days and are then analyzed for their viability for success. Once the best embryo or embryos are identified, then they are transferred to the woman’s womb for implantation. From there, the embryo can attach and develop into a healthy pregnancy.
With continuous focus on how to improve the process, IVF is becoming more and more successful each year. Now, more than ever before, couples that are struggling with infertility are able to conceive a baby and carry it to term with the advancements in the science and technology with this procedure. Our doctors at HRC Fertility are committed to adopting the latest and greatest proven technologies and procedures to improve the process for our patients as well.
The reasons that a couple would have IVF treatment are as varied as the couples themselves. It can help overcome a physical barrier to conception like a vasectomy or a tubal blockage, or it can help a family balance themselves with gender selection. It can preserve the time frame for a family that wants to put off having children due to illness or other priorities, or it can overcome a fear of passing on a genetic disorder to offspring. It can even provide the option for a same-sex couple to have a child of their own.
The uses of this scientific procedure are numerous, and all of them are available to you at HRC Fertility. The doctors at HRC Fertility have helped thousands of families just like you who wanted to be parents but needed assistance along the way. For these couples, IVF was the answer to the question of how to complete their family.
